“I want to break the cycle of limitations placed on women in Ghana”
After marrying at 16, Ikilimah is now turning her life around and is planning a career in construction following training from Plan International Ghana.
Plan International has been working in Ghana to support children, particularly the most marginalised, to exercise their rights for 30 years.
In implementing our new country strategy, we will now be implementing programmes and influencing in the north, south and middle belt of the country. Our main office provides administrative support from Accra.
We are improving the effectiveness of child sponsorship in the most disadvantaged communities. We are also flexible in mobilising resources through grant funding to reach other marginalised communities, influence national policy makers and traditional influencers to position Plan International Ghana as a truly national organisation.
