Plan International has been working in Sierra Leone for over 40 years.
In this time, we have supported children and community members to go to school, stay safe from abuse and get good jobs.
In particular we have helped girls, young people and their allies to build their capacity to speak out and advocate for the elimination of violence against girls and women, female genital mutilation, child marriage and teenage pregnancy.
Our priorities include:
- Supporting children and young people to tackle the root causes of discrimination against girls and women
- Driving changes in practice and policy at local and national level around the issues children face
- Working with children and their communities to prepare for and respond to crises
- Supporting children to grow up in safe communities that respect their rights.
