Plan International has been operating in Zimbabwe since 1986 to tackle the root causes of discrimination against children.
Our community-driven work supports vulnerable children, especially girls, to confidently assert their rights and influence policy-making at national, regional and international levels.
Through strategic partnerships with like-minded organisations and the government, we reach the most marginalised children, especially girls.
We operate in the districts of Bulawayo, Chipinge, Chiredzi, Harare, Kwekwe, Mutare, Mutoko, Mwenezi and Tsholotsho.
Our key areas of work include:
- Ensuring children, especially girls, access quality and inclusive basic education
- Supporting young people to break the cycle of poverty by learning the skills and knowledge they need to earn a living
- Ensuring children and young people, particularly girls, grow up protected from all forms of abuse so that they can participate safely and confidently in society
- Supporting young people to access comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information.
