Every day, girls must face various barriers that directly affect them, such as violence, sexual abuse, early pregnancy, and forced marriages and/or unions.
Plan International is a humanitarian and development organization, with more than 80 years of experience and presence in more than 75 countries, that promotes children’s rights and equality for girls.
In Latin America and the Caribbean, we work with children, youth and families in 14 countries through community programs for the empowerment of rights and the promotion of gender equality. We seek to eradicate harmful practices such as child marriage and teenage pregnancy so that girls and young women can make their own decisions, develop skills and improve their living conditions.
Haiti is the 8th hungriest place in the world and has one of the highest levels of chronic food insecurity with 22% of children chronically malnourished.
